Itinerary
Day 1
Welcome to the Faroe Islands
- Arrival day
Upon arrival at Vágar Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Tórshavn, the capital of the Faroe Islands where you will spend the next seven nights.
The scenic 40-minute drive includes passage through the country’s first subsea tunnel.
After check-in, you will have time to relax or explore the capital at your own pace and enjoy your first evening in Tórshavn.
Day 2
Vágar Island Experience
After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel for a full-day excursion to Vágar Island.
We will begin with a hike to Trælanípa and Bøsdalafossur, two of the most iconic locations, where Lake Sørvágsvatn appears to float above the ocean.
Lunch will be served at Fiskastykkið, a well-known local restaurant with views of the fjord.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Múlafossur waterfall, which falls directly into the sea, and the village of Bøur, known for its turf-roofed houses and views of Tindhólmur and Mykines.
Day 3
Gjógv & Klaksvík
After breakfast, we head north. Our first stop will be at Risin og Kellingin, two iconic sea stacks rising from the ocean.
We continue to the charming village of Gjógv, famous for its natural gorge and colorful houses.
After a walk in the area, we proceed to the Hvíthamar viewpoint, offering spectacular views over the Funningur fjord.
Later, we visit Klaksvík, the second-largest town in the country, and hike up Mount Klakkur for panoramic views of the surrounding fjords and islands.
Day 4
Mykines
An early departure takes you to Sørvágur, where you board the ferry to Mykines, the westernmost island in the archipelago.
Known for its isolation and rich birdlife, Mykines is home to one of the largest puffin colonies in the world.
During the guided excursion, we will walk along the cliffs and through the picturesque village of Mykines, enjoying green landscapes, seabirds, and spectacular views over the Atlantic Ocean.
Return by ferry to Sørvágur in the afternoon and transfer back to Tórshavn.
Day 5
Streymoy Island & the Capital
After breakfast, we begin the day with an exciting RIB62 boat excursion along the coast of Hestur Island, exploring sea caves and dramatic cliffs from the water.
We then continue to Kirkjubøur, the historical and cultural center of the Faroe Islands. Here we visit the ruins of Saint Magnus Cathedral, the 12th-century church of Olavskirkjan, and Roykstovan, a farmhouse inhabited by the same family for 17 generations.
We return to Tórshavn in the afternoon, where we enjoy dinner at one of the capital’s excellent local restaurants. Afterward, we take a walk through the old town of the world’s most interesting capital.
Day 6
Farewell to the Faroe Islands
- Departure day
Today it is time to say goodbye to the Faroe Islands. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to Vágar Airport for your onward journey.
We hope you leave with special memories from your time here and that the experiences of the past days stay with you long after you return home. Thank you for being part of this journey, it has been a pleasure to welcome you to the islands.
